Frantoio Mafrica
Frantoio Mafrica (the Mafrica Oil Mill) is located over the hills of the Limbadi municipality in the province of Vibo Valentia.
The company has been in the Muzzupappa family for generations and its history begins in 1950. More than 100 hectares of land are cultivated here on which dwell 10,000 olive trees of the Ottobratica and Ciciarello varieties. The production cycle takes place entirely within the olive mill.
Two distinct kinds of Mafrica Extra Virgin Olive Oil are produced: "Armonico", made exclusively from the almost ripe olives of the Ottobratica cultivar, and "Verdello" made exclusively from olives of the Ottobratica variety harvested before ripening.
Recently, the farm has also added 10 hectares of kiwi plants and 30 hectares of citrus groves to its olive cultivations: Navel oranges, Ciaculli mandarins and native lemons.
The farm also offers tourist hospitality with its Agriturismo Mafrica, a farmhouse converted from an old, restored farm ruin in the heart of the olive grove. The farm also has an Educational Farm, welcoming families, school trips and visitors groups.
Frantoio Mafrica opens its doors to visitors with guided tours and experience tours to discover the farm and its products, by learning about the oil and its characteristics, and through a tasting experience.
