Le Conche
Le Conche farm stemmed from a passion for nature, over the hills of Bisignano, in the province of Cosenza.
The environment is ideal for the cultivation of both vines and olives; in fact, the farm covers about 43 hectares, 9 of which are used for olive groves, 5 for vineyards and the remainder have been earmarked for breeding Calabrian Black Pigs.
The olives grown are all of the Carolea variety and are harvested by hand from the tree while still green. Processing is done by the cold extraction procedure.
Thanks to modern facilities and to organic farming, the resulting oil has an intense, fruity flavor: Bruzio PDO. The business has been awarded by different awards Associations and Organizations for the processing methods and the quality of the oil.
Le Conche estate offers guided tours and tastings; the one called "Country Wine Tasting" unfolds as follows: starting from the olive grove to explore the Carolea olive variety, it moves-on to the of Black Pigs and Fallow Deer breeding, continuing with a tasting of wine, oils and typical local products at sunset, ending with a visit to the oil mill and the winery.
Among the wines that are produced at Le Conche winery is the Terre di Cosenza PDO type.
