Azienda Agricola Angelina D'Ippolito
The Azienda Agricola Angelina D'Ippolito was founded in 1850, over the hills of Nicastro (in the territory of Lamezia Terme), within the province of Catanzaro.
In about 60 hectares of grove, olive trees of the Carolea-variety together with 15% of other cultivars, including Frantoio, Leccino, Coratina are being farmed. In addition to olive growing, almost 5 hectares of land are dedicated to the cultivation of Navel variety Citruses.
Harvesting takes place throughout the month of October and is done by mechanical shakers and harvesting nets; the olives are then processed in the farm's oil mill through the cold extraction method - that is, without ever exceeding 27 degrees - and then bottled without being filtered.
The oil produced by Azienda Agricola Angelina D'Ippolito is called "Poderosa" and there are two types: Virgin Olive Oil and Lametia DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In addition, Poderosa oil has been awarded with the Slow Food Presidia recognition.
At the farmstead “Podere” you can have a fun and educational experience: learning how to taste the oil and recognize its main characteristics.
