Gal Kroton
The territory of Gal (Public and Private territorial partnership) Kroton develops in Alto Crotonese and Presila Crotonese areas.
This area includes 26 municipalities: Belvedere Spinello, Caccuri, Carfizzi, Casabona, Castelsilano, Cerenzia, Cirò, Cirò Marina, Cotronei, Crucoli, Cutro, Isola di Capo Rizzuto, Melissa, Mesoraca, Pallagorio, Petilia Policastro, Rocca di Neto, Roccabernarda, San Mauro Marchesato, San Nicola dell'Alto, Santa Severina, Savelli, Scandale, Strongoli, Umbriatico, Verzino.
Gal Kroton offers various attractions, starting from Le Castella Marine Protected Area to sites of archaeological interest - Capo Colonna - up to beautiful historic villages included in the circuit of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. The cities of Cirò and Cirò Marina, home of the PDO wine (which in recent times is aiming for the more prestigious DOCG denomination) of the same name, are part of the Gal Kroton. There are also other products certified with PDO brand: Pecorino Crotonese, Alto Crotonese oil and S. Anna di Isola Capo Rizzuto and Melissa wines. Furthermore, must be mentioned also Lipuda PGI wine.
