Terre Di Balbia
Terre di Balbia estate was born in 2001, in the historic village of Altomonte, province of Cosenza, from the challenge of two entrepreneurs: Gianni Venica from Friuli and Silvio Caputo from Calabria.
In 2014 the company was taken over by Giuseppe and Nicola Chiappetta, who together with their sons, Marco and Luca, decided to focus on native vines, cared for by the Salento winemaker Gianfranco Fino.
The vineyards extend for about 8 hectares of land, cultivated organically for the production of the precious local grapes (Magliocco and Gaglioppo), in addition to the international Merlot vine. The work in the vineyard is done by hand, in collaboration with the Friulian company Worldwide Vineyards. Even in the cellar, operations aimed at obtaining an artisanal and quality wine are preferred.
The 3 Calabria PGI wine labels, Fervore, Ligrezza and Blandus, are a mirror of this philosophy.
