Oleificio Santa Venere dei F.lli Vaccaro
Oleificio Santa Venere dei F.lli Vaccaro is an oil mill located in the hilly heart of Cotronei (KR).
The history of the Vaccaro family begins in the distant 1500s and has been handed down from generation to generation until today: more than 2,000 centuries-old olive trees on 50 hectares of land. Since 1990 the company has turned to Organic-agriculture, using techniques with reduced environmental impact.
All stages of the process take place on the farm: the olives are harvested in October and November by using a mechanical shaker; the olives are then taken to the Vaccaro Oil Mill where they will be pressed, crushed and stored, thus producing extra virgin olive oil which will then be bottled.
Vaccaro Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil has been awarded several times for its high quality.
Guided tours of the farm are available by reservation: a visit to the olive grove and the two oil mills, ending with a tasting and the opportunity to buy the products in the Bottega del Frantoio. "Educational farms" activities are also held on the farm.
