'A Lanterna
'A Lanterna farmhouse covers about 67 hectares in Monasterace Marina, Province of Reggio Calabria. The history of this estate dates to 2003, when owners decided to undertake a project to enhance local crops through the adoption of a certified organic regime. The collaboration with Goel Bio Cooperative Group has also directed activity towards the social sector.
Inside the old cellar there is Locanda Cocintum (from the ancient name of the promontory, Cocynthum), furnished in a rustic style, with a large room characterised by a large fireplace and a trussed ceiling. Outside, a patio shaded by a vine pergola is the perfect setting for relaxing breakfasts, wine tastings and typical Calabrian dishes based on local meat and fresh fish from the Ionian Sea.
The cuisine is characterised by a prevalent use of seasonal products from the company's organic crops (jams, fruit and vegetables, oil and wine, all farm-to-table products) or from other neighbouring farms. Hospitality translates into rooms with a rustic but elegant style, located between the spaces of the Manor House, the Sheepfold and the Villa.
