Qafiz
Getting there is not easy, but it is worth it. Among the olive trees in the countryside of Santa Caterina d'Aspromonte, province of Reggio Calabria, you’ll reach an elegant villa of the late eighteenth century, with the adjoining oil mill converted into the one Michelin Star Qafiz restaurant.
Only four tables show within a sober and refined space. A small gem containing one of the most interesting talents of the region, chef Nino Rossi, with whom you can talk simply by approaching the counter, coordinated by an excellent room management.
Most of the products used in the kitchen are Calabrian: sardella and 'nduja next to ingredients that are a real discovery, from both land and sea, inspired by the wild scenery of Aspromonte and its wild herbs.
Creativity services raw material, for a refined cuisine retaining solid relationships with the territory. A stop at the lounge bar to sip a cocktail in front of the pool and garden is highly recommended.
