Dell'Aera Vigneti & Cantina
In 1973 Pasquale Dell'Aera left his Puglia and moved to Calabria with his family. He bought San Giacomo estate, in Soveria Simeri, province of Catanzaro, then, in La Maddalena Valley, he planted the vineyards from which today the Calabria PGI red, rosé, and white wines are made. In 2008 his nephew Matteo, an agrotechnician, who devoted himself to the family project, started to vinify the native grapes of the first label, the Grandane.
Today the company is spread over an area of over 30 hectares, divided into the San Giacomo estates (the one that houses the cellar, where Krio and Kometes are born), Maddalena (second in size, from which Vanitas is obtained), Cantorato (the vineyards of Grandane and Semirus), Laca (on the banks of the Simeri river).
The cellar has been designed with a low environmental impact. The harvest takes place following a careful evaluation of the grapes using modern analysis technologies, with manual harvesting.
The company is open to those who want to spend time away from the chaos, with a walk in the vineyard and tasting.
