Gal Sila

Gal (Public and Private territorial partnership) Sila operates in the territory of Sila plateau which falls within the municipality of Cosenza, also called Sila Grande: uncontaminated nature and an alternation of woods, lakes and authentic villages.

Gal Sila territory includes 15 municipalities: Acri, Bocchigliero, Campana, Casali del Manco, Castiglione Cosentino, Celico, Lappano, Longobucco, Pietrafitta, Rende, Rovito, San Giovanni in Fiore, San Pietro in Guarano, Spezzano della Sila, Zumpano.

Gal Sila area is a mountainous area with a huge expanse of woods, forests, and mountains. Among typical products we find a wide range of mushrooms (porcini, rositi, vavusi), 4 excellences decorated with the PDO brand - Soppressata di Calabria, Capocollo di Calabria, Calabrian sausage, Caciocavallo Silano -, many wineries included in the Terre di Cosenza PDO and Potatoes of the Sila PGI.
