La Lestopitta - Da Mimmo
Bova, one of The Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, is the heart of the Grecanica culture of Calabria. The gastronomic symbol of the village is lestopitta (from the Greek for "thin bread").
The rotisserie La Lestopitta - Da Mimmo still follows the traditional recipe used by housewives in the past when there was no bread in the house: kneading flour, water and salt until a homogenous mixture is obtained, which is then fried in boiling oil. You can fill this delicious pastry with various ingredients, both savoury and sweet.
The restaurant is housed in an old cellar from the 19th century, located in the historical centre of Bova.
