Scilla PGI
The Scilla PGI variety includes the following types of wine: Red, Rosé and Red Novello (Young Red).
The crafting area of the PGI product includes the entire territory within the municipality of Scilla, in the province of Reggio Calabria.
The grapes used for the production of Scilla PGI must come from at least 85% black grape varieties cultivated locally; the remaining 15% might also come from white grape varieties.
The Scilla PGI Red wine has a beautiful shade of deep red, an intense bouquet and a minimum total alcoholic strength volume of 12%. Red Novello Scilla PGI is characterized by red hues which may vary in brightness, a fruity aroma and a minimum total alcoholic strength volume of 11%. The Rosè Scilla PGI wine has a rose-pink color of variable intensity, a fine and delicate aroma and a fresh flavour.
