Pellaro PGI

Pellaro PGI includes the following types of wine: Red, Rosé and Red Novello.

The area of production of the PGI product includes the entire territory of the municipality of Motta San Giovanni and the grounds in hamlets such as Bocale, Lume di Pellaro, Macellari, Occhio di Pellaro, Oliveto, Paterriti, Pellaro, San Filippo, and Valanidia in the municipality of Reggio Calabria.

These PGI wines must be made from grapes grown in vineyards farming one or more black grape varieties suitable for cultivation in Calabria. Pellaro PGI Red wines have a beautiful ruby color and full flavor. Pellaro Red Novello PGI differs from the normal type in its intense color and fruity aroma and flavor. Pellaro Rosato PGI has a pink color (with more or less intense shades), a fine odor, and a fresh flavor. The minimum total ABV is 11% for Red Novello and 13% for Red and Rosé types.
