Locride PGI
Locride PGI includes the following types of wine: White, Montonico white passito, Red (also with the Young/Novello variant) and Rosé.
The production area of the PGI product includes several municipalities in the province of Reggio Calabria.
The grapes used for the production of Locride PGI must come from white or red grape vineyards, which are grown in the Calabrian area of interest. Locride IGP White wines have a pale-yellow color, an intense aroma and an alcohol content of 10.5%. The Montonicor passito has a color closer to amber, a sweet taste and its minimum alcoholic strength measured in by volume is 15%. Rosé Locride PGI wines are rosy-pink (more or less intense), with a fruity bouquet and an alcoholic content of 11%. Locride PGI Red wines are characterized by a ruby color; Novello Red differs for its bright red hues and fruity scent. Both PGI Reds have a minimum alcohol volume content of 11%/11.5%.
