Limone di Rocca Imperiale PGI
The Limone di Rocca Imperiale PGI (Lemon from Rocca Imperiale) is a citrus fruit stemming from the graft all the Femminello fruits, ascribable to the botanical species Citrus Limun Burm.
The production area includes the entire territory of the Municipality of Rocca Imperiale, in the province of Cosenza.
The cultivation of the PGI product can be of three types: traditional, integrated crop and organic. Pruning is carried out at the end of the winter, while the fruits are harvested throughout the year; reaping must be done by hand, without any mechanical aid. After being harvested, the fruit is stored in humid environments for a maximum of 60 days.
The Limone di Rocca Imperiale PGI has a medium size, elongated shape and the color of the skin ranges from light green to yellow; the lemon is almost seedless.
The variety of Rocca Imperiale PGI Lemon is unique and incomparable; it is also called reblooming lemon, because it blossoms 4 times a year, producing fruits for each flowering.
