Cirò PDO
Cirò PDO includes the following types of wine: White, Red and Rosé. The Rosso (Red) is also produced in the Classic, Superior Classic, Classic Superior Riserva, Superiore and Superiore Riserva versions.
The production area of Cirò PDO includes the entire territory of the municipalities of Cirò and Cirò Marina and part of the territories of the municipalities of Melissa and Crucoli in the Province of Crotone.
Cirò red and rosé wines must be obtained from grapes produced from vineyards with the following ampelographic composition: minimum 80% Gaglioppo. Cirò white wine must be obtained from grapes produced from vineyards with the following ampelographic composition: Greco bianco (white) minimum 80%. Cirò Rosso and Rosato have a minimum total alcoholic strength by volume of 12.5% vol., while the white 11% vol.
Cirò PDO denomination can be followed by the mention Vigna (Vineyard) with its toponym.
