Verzino Caves
There is an underground world in Verzino, in the province of Crotone. Here, between the Marchesato valley and upper Sila, there is a rock settlement inhabited by prehistoric civilisations, first Palaeolithic and then Neolithic, which has survived for millennia and is made of caves.
These settlements, made in prehistoric times by the indigenous peoples, were then used around 700 A.D. by Basilian monks.
