Municipal Villa "Nazzareno Cremona"
The Municipal Villa "Nazzareno Cremona" (formerly Villa Regina Margherita) is dedicated to the captain of the 19th Infantry Regiment of the Italian Army who died during the First World War, to whom Giuseppe Ungaretti dedicated his famous poem "The Captain". Originally the St Joseph's Garden, the villa has many ancient trees, marble seats and pedestals with statues. The stairs leading to the public garden and the terrace on what is now Corso Umberto I date back to the early 20th century. In the 1950s, the villa housed the Casina dei Fiori, a venue for cultural meetings and festivities, now home to the "A. Borello" Sporting Club.
