Karstic Caves
The territory of Castelsilano is rich in speleological cavities, the most important of which is the Grotta di Samourì or Grave Grubbo, which extends for kilometres into the bowels of the earth. The cavity was discovered in 1989 during a search party in the area by several speleological groups. The cave opens up into a vast dolina, ending in a shaft approximately 11 metres deep at its most depressed part.
