Hermitage of Sant'Elia Vecchio
The Hermitage or Monastery of Sant'Elia Vecchio dates back to the year 1000 and it was built by Basilian monks who had arrived in Calabria; the site chosen - in the locality of Corda (a hamlet of Curinga) - lent itself well as a place of solitude in which to retire in prayer. Today, ruins and a church, almost intact, remain.
