Gambarie

Gambarie is a mountain locality in the municipality of Santo Stefano in Aspromonte, located in the heart of the Aspromonte National Park, north-east of the centre of Reggio Calabria, in one of the most important protected areas in Italy, both in terms of extension and naturalistic, faunal and landscape value, as well as being the seat of the park itself.

An important tourist resort in summer, but lately also in winter thanks to the recent new ski-lifts, its slopes (you can ski while seeing the Straits of Messina, the Aeolian Islands and Mount Etna), the natural environment and the evocative landscapes, from here some trekking routes begin, provided with appropriate signposting, ring-shaped or directed towards other places in the Aspromonte area, offering visitors a wide choice in terms of difficulty and duration.
