Pea and broad bean festival

The Peas and Broad Beans Festival returns to Montegiordano (CS) on 20 and 21 April 2024 for its 11th edition.

In this area, the cultivation of peas and broad beans has flourished, transforming these two exceptional products of the earth into authentic excellences of local gastronomy. Peas, consumed since Neolithic times and known for their richness in protein, fibre and minerals, are among the most popular legumes in the Mediterranean diet. They have even earned a place in Slow Food's Ark of Taste, a virtual treasure chest of Italian delicacies.

The exhibitors and stands dedicated to promoting the many gastronomic specialities are the protagonists of two intense days of exhibitions, street performances, concerts, folklore and, of course, delicious broad bean and pea dishes. The beating heart of this event is Via del Carmine, in the Piano delle Rose hamlet, where the stalls offer the public unique culinary delicacies.

Agriculture, food and wine tourism, and pure entertainment come together to create an event firmly rooted in the values of the Calabrian land.
